Showboy BakeShop baking Collaboration

June 12, 2017 by Emily Hutchinson

I had the privilege to fly to Las Vegas and collaborate with Stephen Lowry and Jared Sullivan, owners of Showboy BakeShop. They own two Bakeshops, one in Henderson and one in Summerlin, Nevada. They have been voted best of Las Vegas ’14, ’15, and ’16. They were featured on Food Networks Cupcake wars and WON Food Networks Cake Wars!!

They not only have a gorgeous bakeshop but they make the best cupcakes I have EVER tasted! Stephen and Jared are very talented. Their love for baking and zest for life is contagious. They are so down to earth and humble, I felt honored to bake with them. Lets take a picture tour of their incredible shop!!

Our Baking collaboration was so much fun. After we toured their amazing Bakeshop we headed to the kitchen to get to work. We started by whipping up my buttercream icing recipe to frost some yummy sugar cookies. I gave a lesson along with some tips that help me to frost the perfect cookie. Stephen and Jared have incredible piping skills which made my job super easy.

We made cupcake cookies, lip smooch cookies and ice cream cookies. They turned out adorable.

I gave a lesson on my signature flower cookies. We decided it would be fun to try something new, so we busted out the ribbon rose cookie which was perfection.

After we were done piping, we made Stephen and Jared’s Italian Meringue buttercream that they use in their shop, it was so silky, light and fluffy. We piped some cupcakes and cookies The Showboy way! I loved learning their techniques. They passed on some secrets to their cupcakes that I’ll take to my grave. I felt very proud and humbled by their kindness and generosity. We spent hours doing what we LOVE while laughing so hard our stomachs hurt. We traded secrets and became forever friends!!! We are already planning our next baking collaboration so stay tuned.
