Pizza Pull Apart Bread with Garlic Butter

Pizza pull apart bread with garlic butter hits the spot. My son and I created this last year for a kids camp and it was a huge hit. The bread is coated in homemade pizza sauce, then loaded with pepperoni and cheese, drizzled with garlic butter and topped with parmesan cheese. This pizza pull apart bread can be sliced or pulled apart. This is a dinner or lunch, the whole family will love.

  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt table salt
  • 1/2 cup water

  • 2 11 oz loafs Pillsbury French bread sticks, refrigerated dough or similar
  • 3 oz Pepperoni sliced for pizza
  • 1 cup pizza sauce or homemade sauce from above recipe
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan

Garlic butter

  • 1/3 cup butter unsalted and melted
  • 1/2 tsp salt table salt
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Pizza Sauce

  • Over medium heat in a small pan, add butter and minced garlic. Saut√© for one minute, careful not to burn garlic. Add in paste, seasonings and slowly add in water, stirring. Simmer for a couple minutes to let the seasoning bloom. Turn off stovetop and set aside.

  • Spray bundt pan with cooking spray.
  • Cut the bread dough into 1 inch thick slices and then cut those sliced in half. Kitchen scissors work best.
  • Sprinkle grated parmesan on the bottom of the pan. Layer pepperoni on top of parm. Put half of the cut dough chunks down on the pepperoni. Tuck pepperoni slices down on the sides to border the bundt pan. Add on pizza sauce but reserve two heaping Tbsp for the end. Add on shredded mozzarella cheese and use fingers to wiggle it between some of the dough chunks. Then layer remaining dough and reserved sauce to the top.

Garlic butter

  • In a small bowl, melt butter, salt, Italian seasoning and garlic powder on stove top or in microwave. Stir and pour evenly over top of dough. Sprinkle with more grated parmesan.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes on middle rack. Let cool for 5 minutes and flip over on a large plate and serve.
