My love for sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies have collided in this delicious recipe. You get a rich brown sugar taste with a slightly crispy edge and soft middle.
My childhood dreams came true as this recipe has been perfected. Memories are often lead by taste, the taste of these wreaths brought back memories with my sisters on Christmas. We have been trying every year to find a recipe that tastes just like the good old days, well here it is!
These marshmallow wreaths are so easy and my son Mikie loved making them with me. He added the red hots as soon as I made the wreaths so they stuck. I made my marshmallow wreaths about two inches across which seemed to be the perfect size. If you are looking for a new tradition for Christmas, this one is perfect. The whole family can help.

My Naked Lemon cakes have become a very desired recipe so I’m going to share this recipe that my family LOVES! It’s so easy that you are going to be shocked! In the ingredients for my lemon cake you will see that I’m using Betty Crockers boxed lemon cake mix which I doctor up. I also love to cover my Lemon cakes with buttercream frosting!
You may be thinking….”OH MY GOSH The Hutch Oven is using box cake mix?” but let me tell you, this lemon cake is so yummy, moist and fluffy that you must try it. I am not a snob to doctored box mixes. This is still homemade and you are putting as much into baking this cake as you would if you made one completely from scratch. Give yourself a break sometimes 😉
I like to use Wilton bake even strips on my cake rounds for even baking and a flat tops. You may need to trim a little off to make your cake flat. You will want to thinly slice your lemons and use any kind of greenery. You may have the greenery you need right in your back yard 😉
You can use any buttercream recipe but here is a link to mine on my Hallmark Home and Family segment
I added a video at the bottom to show you how easy it was to assemble my lemon naked cake. You can fully frost your lemon cake like the first photo I used or keep it naked. Either way, it’s lemon so…
Summer is approaching and all I can think about is fresh berries and yummy desserts like parfaits. I’m sure you can relate to how important it is to know how much sugar is going into you or your family. With FAGE Total plain Greek yogurt you can make a simple dessert or treat that the whole family will love. FAGE Total has a rich, creamy texture with no added sugar, non-GMO, additive and preservative free. The only sugar is the natural occurring milk sugar.
I’m trying to stay healthy and grow-up healthy kids and sometimes it’s hard to find easy recipes that my kids will eat. FAGE Total plain Greek yogurt is protein-rich and a good source of calcium for those growing bones. I have an easy recipe to share that is so tasty. You need a 17.6 oz tub of FAGE Total, fresh fruit, sugar, flour or cornstarch, and some parfait cups. I have the recipe down at the bottom of my post to print 🙂
Berry season is upon us which makes for amazing parfaits. Make it a family day of picking berries and making dessert together. I made a thick berry sauce to stir into my FAGE Total and you can add as much or as little sugar to it.
I am a baker so I always have piping bags on hand. If you don’t have those you can spoon in your layers which will still look beautiful and delicious. If you have the piping bags, cut off the tip and add in your berry FAGE mix. Pipe the first layer to your parfait.
Here’s where we get to make it extra pretty with a layer of fresh berries.
I wanted to add a layer of plain FAGE Total because it pulls the parfait together. I grabbed another piping bag, cut off the tip and filled it with FAGE. This will be your third layer. Don’t stop now!!
This is my favorite part, our delicious berry sauce makes another appearance. This is going to be our 4th layer. Don’t skimp on that yummy sauce my friends.
Then, in true parfait fashion we are going to go back to our berry FAGE Total mix that started the layers. Squeeze or dollop that yummy yogurt on your 5th layer. Be proud, it’s looking amazing!!
Our final step is adding fresh berries to the top.
If your kids are helping you I’m sure they can’t wait to dig in. If you are entertaining, put them on a tray and serve. This dessert is beautifully appetizing and we get to put some all natural Greek strained yogurt into our kids. Plus, this recipe is just so easy!

I have shared this recipe before and now I’m sharing it again with a printable recipe card because they really are my families favorite brownies!
So soft and gooey, Isn’t that the way brownies are supposed to be?!!! This recipe is also super easy and I always have these ingredients on hand.
To get the softest and gooiest brownies, make sure not to over bake them. A trick that I have also, is I use Wilton’s non-stick 8 by 8 brownie pan and they never stick. After they bake I allow them to cool for 5 minutes and then flip them over onto parchment paper. I cut them this way and my knife doesn’t drag or butcher them.
My family and I make this recipe a couple times a month and we still LOVE them!
It’s no secret that I love cookies, especially sugar cookies. I went on a hunt for the perfect chocolate sugar cookie. With no success, it dawned on me….what if I changed some ingredients to my sugar cookie recipe and add regular sugar instead of powdered sugar….Voila, the perfect cut-out chocolate cookie was made.
I got a beautiful rolling pin from Goody Woody to create this stunning print on my cookies. Go check out all her rolling pins, they are so impressive.
