These cookies have special meaning. I made these with my son for his Dutch heritage project in school. I used an old recipe I had and added chocolate ganache. I think this makes a perfect addition to any Christmas cookie plate. The recipe is so simple.

- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup Salted butter
- Mix together wet ingredients.
- In separate bowl mix flour and baking powder. add into wet mixed ingredients.
- With a small cookie scoop or a tablespoon, scoop out cookie dough and roll into balls. Flatten cookie tell it is about 1/2 inch thick. Press your thumb down into the cookie to make a slight indentation to hold the chocolate after they are cooled.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 10-12 minutes. They should be baked through but sill soft.
- Remove from baking sheet and let cool.
- Melt your butter and pour over chocolate chips. Stir and microwave for 15 seconds at a time until fully melted. You can add extra butter if your chocolate isn't smooth enough.
- Add small spoons of the chocolate into the middle of your cookie.
- ENJOY!!!
These cookies are soft and decadent with the Chocolate ganache added. You can omit the chocolate and add peanut butter or a different topping if you prefer. I loved the way this recipe came together. You can always add more butter to your chocolate to thin it out. Add sprinkles or festive topping to the cookies for a Christmas flare. I made these with my son for his school heritage project and I will be surely passing this recipe down.
